SONGS FOR SUMMER ARTISTS
One of the great things about putting out the Songs For Summer record is hearing about people discovering some of her favorite artists. We've received some wonderful letters from people who loved the charity album so much that they started to seek out albums by the bands on the record. That's the idea!

COOL CATS
Summer loved her oldies. She collected old swing, jazz, lounge, soul and percussion records. She bought tons of old vinyl just because the cover was interesting or funny or pretty. I can't say enough about these people because all of these artists have HUGE bodies of work. Most of the folks she liked from these eras (long before she was even born in 1976) were all killer, no filler, so you can buy ANYTHING of theirs and it'll be hep, daddy-o.

EURO TRASH
In the early 90's, a large majority of what Summer was listening to was coming out of England and other European countries. She would refer to several of them as "swooshy" but they're all good in their own way.

Summer wasn't shy about writing, calling or approaching her favorite musicians. Here's a few that she said hello to....

SHE WOULDA LOVED IT
It's a shame that there's so much great music that never made it to her ears while she was still hanging out down here. Many of her favorite bands put out their bestest stuff after she passed away. There is no question that she would've been crazy for Belle & Sebastian, Elliott Smith, Deathray, Incredible Moses Leroy, Quasi, and Death Cab For Cutie. Check 'em out!
